Marvel Rivals Addresses 30 FPS Damage Bug Affecting Several Heroes

Players of Marvel Rivals experiencing reduced damage output at lower frame rates (FPS) can breathe a sigh of relief. The developers have acknowledged a bug impacting damage calculations, particularly affecting heroes like Dr. Strange and Wolverine at 30 FPS. This issue, impacting accuracy of damage dealt by certain abilities, is currently under active development.

Launched in early December 2025 to widespread acclaim (80% player approval on Steam, over 132,000 reviews!), Marvel Rivals has seen a recent surge in reports about this 30 FPS glitch. Community feedback pinpoints Dr. Strange, Magik, Star-Lord, Venom, and Wolverine as particularly affected, experiencing diminished damage with some or all of their attacks at lower frame rates.

A community manager's post on the official Discord server confirms the problem, noting movement inconsistencies at lower FPS that extend to attack damage. While a precise fix date isn't available, the upcoming Season 1 launch (January 11th) is slated to address the issue.

The Root of the Problem: Client-Side Prediction

The bug's origin appears to be linked to the game's client-side prediction mechanism – a common programming technique to minimize perceived lag. This mechanism, while generally beneficial, seems to be interacting poorly with damage calculations at lower FPS.

While the official statement doesn't detail every affected hero or move, Wolverine's Feral Leap and Savage Claw abilities are specifically mentioned. The effects are reportedly more pronounced against stationary targets than in live matches. If the Season 1 update doesn't completely resolve the issue, further patches are promised. The team's commitment to fixing this bug ensures a more balanced and enjoyable experience for all players.
