In a recent Steam blog post dated March 26, inZOI Director Hyungjun 'Kjun' Kim explained that while the initial intent was to protect the game from illegal distribution, the community's response led to a reevaluation of this approach. Kjun emphasized that the Early Access build, scheduled for release on March 28, 2025, will be free of any DRM technology. He apologized for not informing players about Denuvo's inclusion in the Creative Studio mode demo and highlighted that removing DRM would allow for greater customization and freedom for players, fostering a more innovative and enjoyable experience.
inZOI aims to be a highly moddable game, a goal that was seemingly contradicted by the addition of Denuvo, which can hinder modding capabilities. Kjun reaffirmed the commitment to modding during an Online Showcase, stating that the first stage of official mod support will launch in May.
