Paint, draw, and share your creations with others! ArtClash is currently in early access, with more features on the way. We're not trying to be Sketchbook, Photoshop, Procreate, or Infinite Painter. We are ArtClash.
ArtClash is designed to inspire daily drawing, sketching, and cartooning practice. The first game is complete, but more are coming soon. Create freehand drawings or participate in themed challenges, adding optional constraints like time limits, color palettes, or canvas size to earn points for correct guesses from other players.
This is a solo project, initially created for my wife and me to encourage daily practice, and now shared to inspire others as well.
Current Features:
- Paint: Sketch, paint, and blend with ease.
- Image Import: Use images as references or paint directly over them.
- Themed Challenges: Select topics, apply constraints, draw, and earn points for each correct guess.
- Difficulty Levels: Six levels of topic difficulty, ranging from single words to five-word descriptions (nouns, verbs, places, time periods).
- Constraints: Choose from three constraints for bonus points: time, colors, or canvas size.
- Free Draw: Create and share any drawing you like.
- NSFW Flag: Control your viewing preferences for NSFW content.
Current Early Access Issues/Bugs:
- UI: The Unity UI is currently undergoing significant improvement. A transition to XAML is planned for a more responsive and polished user experience.
- Canvas Size: On lower-end devices, it's recommended to keep canvases under 1024x1024 pixels. The brush engine is GPU-accelerated but experiences performance slowdowns with large canvases and small brushes. We are exploring other engine options for optimization.
Upcoming Features:
- More Games: Starting with a "telephone" game using drawings.
- Enhanced Social Features: Customizable avatars, comments on projects, friend system, and following functionality.
- Improved UI and Brush Engine: Addressing the issues mentioned above.
- Marquee Selection & Transform Tools: Enhanced editing capabilities.
- More Brushes: Support for custom brush textures, with community sharing planned.
- Advanced Layer System: Features like locking transparent pixels and masking.
- Developer Communication System: A feedback system for feature requests, bug reports, and community voting.
- Moderators: Community moderation for flagged content and issue resolution.
- Topic & Constraint Submissions: Community contributions to topics and constraints, subject to moderation.
- Future Expansion: Full image editing, animation, scripting, and game/storyboard prototyping.
Due to current performance limitations with large textures and the lack of full editing features, ArtClash is not intended as a complete image editing suite at this time. It's optimized for social competition and encouraging creative practice.
