Blizzard finds itself embroiled in yet another Overwatch 2 controversy. The company recently sold a new Lucio skin, dubbed Cyber DJ, for $19.99. However, just a day later, Blizzard announced that this same skin would be available for free as part of an event focused on the future of Overwatch 2. On February 12, viewers who tune into a Twitch broadcast for an hour can claim the Cyber DJ skin at no cost.
This announcement came as a shock to players who had already purchased the skin, leading to widespread frustration and demands for refunds. The Cyber DJ skin has since been removed from the store, yet Blizzard has not yet addressed the issue of refunds publicly.

This isn't the first instance where Blizzard has offered paid cosmetic items for free during promotions, intensifying players' feelings of unfair treatment. Amidst these challenges, Overwatch 2 faces stiff competition from Marvel Rivals, which is currently outperforming its competitors across the board.
In response to these pressures, Blizzard is set to unveil significant gameplay changes at an Overwatch 2 Spotlight event. Scheduled for February 12, this broadcast will introduce new maps, heroes, and other content. To build anticipation and provide a sneak peek at these updates, Blizzard will host popular streamers at their headquarters.
