WoW: Midnight Unveils Flexible Housing Options

by Lucas Apr 10,2025

Blizzard has unveiled exciting details about the upcoming in-game housing system in World of Warcraft: Midnight. Although the expansion is slated for release after The War Within as part of the Worldsoul saga, early previews indicate a level of customization that exceeds many players' expectations.

A recent developer blog showcased in-game videos demonstrating the furniture placement mechanics. The system utilizes a grid for item alignment with automatic snapping, allowing players to effortlessly arrange their spaces. Additionally, larger objects such as shelves or tables can be adorned with smaller accessories that remain attached even when moved, enhancing the flexibility of interior design.

The housing system offers two distinct modes: a Basic Mode for easy organization and an Advanced Mode tailored for creative builders. In Advanced Mode, players have the freedom to rotate objects on all three axes and stack them in innovative ways, facilitating the creation of intricate and visually appealing interiors.

A notable feature is the ability to scale objects, catering to the diverse sizes of characters. This means gnomes can craft cozy, intimate spaces, while larger races like tauren can design more expansive layouts. Some furniture pieces designed specifically for the housing system will also support recoloring, although this feature may not be available for legacy assets.

With World of Warcraft: Midnight still months away, Blizzard is keeping the community engaged by teasing upcoming content, building anticipation and excitement for the game's future updates.
