Naruto X Boruto Ninja Voltage Shutting Down

Bandai Namco's popular fortress strategy RPG, Naruto X Boruto Ninja Voltage, is officially slated for closure. This isn't unexpected for many players, mirroring the fate of other Bandai Namco gacha titles, notably Naruto Blazing.

The game's final curtain call is set for December 9th, 2024, concluding a nearly seven-year run since its 2017 launch. Players can continue enjoying the game, including upcoming events like the Village Leader World Championship (October 8th-18th), an All-Out Mission (October 18th-November 1st), and a final "Thanks For Everything" campaign (November 1st-December 1st). All in-game features, such as summoning and collecting Ninja Cards, remain accessible until the shutdown. Players are advised to utilize any remaining Gold Coins before the game's closure.

The game's decline appears linked to a shift in game mechanics. While initially praised for its balanced village-building and defense aspects, the introduction of powerful characters like Minato triggered a noticeable power creep. This, combined with increasingly overt pay-to-win mechanics, reduced free-to-play rewards, and a decline in multiplayer features, ultimately contributed to the game's player attrition and eventual shutdown. The game remains available on the Google Play Store for those interested in a final playthrough.
