Housemarque has just unveiled their latest project, Saros, at the February 2025 State of Play. This eagerly anticipated game is set to launch in 2026, and fans of the studio's work are in for a treat.
Releasing in 2026
Saros is designed exclusively for the PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Pro, promising to build upon the intense third-person action experience that Returnal fans loved. The game introduces players to the character Arjun Devraj, portrayed by the talented Hollywood actor Rahul Kohli. This new title aims to take the thrilling gameplay of Returnal to new heights, evolving its core mechanics and narrative.
Come Back Stronger
According to Housemarque's creative director, Gregory Louden, Saros is crafted to allow Returnal to stand as a unique entity while establishing a fresh intellectual property. The game will expand on Returnal's storytelling and mechanics, introducing permanent and evolving loadouts for weapons and suits. This feature, dubbed "Come Back Stronger," empowers players to overcome any challenges they face, enhancing their resilience and strategic capabilities.
An extended gameplay reveal is scheduled for later in 2025, giving fans more to look forward to as the release date approaches.
