Marvel Rivals Season 1: Eternal Night Falls – New Characters, Maps, and Game Mode Unveiled
NetEase Games recently detailed Season 1 of Marvel Rivals, revealing exciting additions including a new battle pass, maps, and a fresh game mode. Following the conclusion of Season 0, anticipation is high for Season 1's launch on January 10th at 1 AM PST.
The season kicks off with the arrival of Mister Fantastic (Duelist) and The Invisible Woman (Strategist), playable characters from the Fantastic Four. Seasons will run approximately three months, with The Thing and Human Torch expected to join the roster six to seven weeks into Season 1. The Baxter Building will also feature prominently in a new map.
Season 1 introduces three new maps: Empire of the Eternal Night: Sanctum Sanctorum (featured in the new Doom Match mode), Empire of the Eternal Night: Midtown (for convoy missions), and Empire of the Eternal Night: Central Park (arriving mid-season). A new arcade-style game mode, Doom Match, will see 8-12 players competing, with the top 50% declared victorious.
The Season 1 battle pass offers 10 new skins and costs 990 Lattice, but players will recoup 600 Lattice and 600 Units upon completion.
Key features of Season 1 include:
- New Playable Characters: Mister Fantastic & Invisible Woman (initially), followed by The Thing & Human Torch.
- New Maps: Empire of the Eternal Night: Sanctum Sanctorum, Midtown, and Central Park.
- New Game Mode: Doom Match (8-12 players, top 50% win).
- Battle Pass: 10 new skins, 600 Lattice & 600 Units reward.
NetEase Games highlighted the importance of player feedback, acknowledging concerns about character balance (e.g., Hawkeye's ranged advantage) and promising adjustments in the first half of Season 1. The team's proactive approach has generated significant excitement among fans.
