Freedom Wars Remastered Unveils Gameplay Mechanics

Freedom Wars Remastered: Enhanced Gameplay and New Features Revealed

A new trailer from Bandai Namco showcases the gameplay and significant improvements in Freedom Wars Remastered. This action RPG boasts enhanced visuals, refined game mechanics, and a host of new features, making a compelling return for both veterans and newcomers. Launching January 10th on PS4, PS5, Switch, and PC, the game offers a thrilling dystopian experience.

The remastered title retains the core gameplay loop of its predecessor: battling colossal mechanical creatures (Abductors), harvesting resources, and upgrading equipment. This cycle, reminiscent of the Monster Hunter series, sees players taking on missions, ranging from civilian rescues to the destruction and capture of Abductors and control systems, playable solo or cooperatively online. The game's narrative follows a "Sinner," convicted simply for being born, in a world ravaged by resource depletion, serving their sentence through mission completion to benefit their Panopticon (city-state).

Freedom Wars Remastered significantly enhances the original experience. Visually, the game receives a substantial upgrade, reaching 4K resolution (2160p) at 60 FPS on PS5 and PC. PS4 players will enjoy 1080p at 60 FPS, while the Switch version maintains 1080p at 30 FPS. Gameplay is faster-paced, incorporating improved movement speed and weapon attack cancellation mechanics.

The crafting and upgrade systems have undergone a complete overhaul. The new interfaces are more intuitive, allowing for easy attachment and detachment of modules. A key addition is module synthesis, empowering players to enhance modules with the aid of rescued citizens. Finally, a challenging "Deadly Sinner" difficulty mode caters to experienced players, and all original customization DLC from the PS Vita version is included from the outset.
