The excitement for the upcoming season of *Daredevil* is palpable, and the creators are already contemplating what lies ahead, including the possibility of a *Defenders* reunion. In a comprehensive feature by Entertainment Weekly, Brad Winderbaum, Marvel Studios' head of streaming and TV, expressed enthusiasm about the potential to bring together the street-level heroes of *Daredevil*, *Luke Cage*, *Jessica Jones*, and *Iron Fist*, collectively known as The Defenders.
While no plans are set in stone, Winderbaum shared with EW, "It's certainly exciting to be able to play in that sandbox… Obviously, we don't have the unlimited storytelling resources like a comic book, [where] if you can draw it, you can do it. We're dealing with actors and time and the massive scale of production in order to build a cinematic universe, especially on television."
He further emphasized, "But I can just say that all those variables taken into account, it is certainly something that is creatively extremely exciting and that we are very much exploring."
We're already aware that *Daredevil: Born Again* will continue the story that began on Netflix. Netflix previously hosted its own Marvel universe, albeit on a smaller scale, with shows like *Jessica Jones*, *Iron Fist*, and *Luke Cage*. Winderbaum's comments suggest that *Daredevil: Born Again* could serve as a springboard to bring these characters back into the fold on Disney's terms via Disney Plus. The inclusion of Jon Bernthal's Punisher in the new season marks another Netflix hero making the transition.
For now, we'll need to wait and see what unfolds in *Daredevil: Born Again* when it premieres on March 4 before we can speculate on how *Daredevil* might connect with the broader MCU.
