Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Update Addresses Player Feedback and Implements Significant Changes
Treyarch has released a new update for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, directly addressing player concerns regarding recent changes to the game's Zombies mode. Key changes include a reversal of the controversial Directed Mode spawn delay adjustment, substantial buffs to the Shadow Rift Ammo Mod, and numerous bug fixes across various game modes.
The January 3rd update introduced alterations to Directed Mode in Citadelle des Morts, extending the time between rounds and delaying zombie spawns after five looped rounds. This negatively impacted player kill farming and camo challenge completion. Following significant community feedback expressing frustration, Treyarch swiftly reversed this decision. The latest update restores the spawn delay to approximately 20 seconds after five looped rounds. Additional fixes target glitches and bugs impacting quest progression and overall gameplay within Citadelle des Morts' Directed Mode, including resolving issues with visual effects and crashes related to the Void Sheath Augment for Aether Shroud.
Furthermore, the Shadow Rift Ammo Mod receives significant enhancements. Activation rates for normal, special, and elite enemies (with the Big Game Augment) have all been increased, alongside a 25% reduction in cooldown time.
The update also includes several global fixes, addressing issues with character skins, UI elements, and in-game audio. Multiplayer improvements focus on stability and increased XP rewards in Red Light, Green Light mode. The Limited Time Mode (LTM) now includes Liberty Falls and increases the round cap to 20.
Treyarch acknowledges that some fixes require more extensive testing and will be included in the upcoming Season 2 update on January 28th. This includes addressing the Vermin double-attack bug and enabling the Shock Charge tactic in Terminus. Until then, players can continue to enjoy the improved gameplay and newly buffed Shadow Rift Ammo Mod. The complete patch notes are detailed below:
