Hollow Era Tips and Tricks
Becoming a Hollow in the Hollow Era
Embarking on your journey in Hollow Era, you begin as a Soul Spirit. At this critical juncture, you face a pivotal choice: transform into a Shinigami or a Hollow. Opting for the Hollow path requires you to break all the links on your chain, a process that naturally occurs every two minutes, ensuring your transformation into a Hollow within minutes, even if you take no action.
Warning: Venturing into the Hollow Era as a Hollow can be a grind-heavy experience, less dynamic than playing as a Shinigami. While Hollows boast a cooler aesthetic, achieving the pinnacle of Vasto Lorde or Espada requires patience and perseverance through repetitive tasks.
Hollow Progression in the Hollow Era
Your initial goal as a Hollow is to evolve into a Gillian. This involves relentless grinding by defeating other Hollows and consuming their remains. Reaching level 15 unlocks the Gillian form, but at level 10, you gain access to the Hueco Mundo dimension via the Garganta gateway, simplifying the process of finding and consuming Hollows.
As a Hollow, you'll face hostility from both Shinigami and other Hollows, a unique challenge not shared by Soul Reapers (Shinigami). For a different perspective, explore our full Shinigami progression guide.
Gillian Form in the Hollow Era
As a Gillian, your focus shifts to annihilating more Hollows and engaging with Hollow Pillars scattered across Hueco Mundo. Accumulating enough Progression Points triggers teleportation to your inner world, where you must conquer three rounds of battling five formidable Hollows each time. Success in these trials propels you into the Adjucha stage.
These inner world Hollows are significantly tougher than their regular counterparts, but don't fear death; you can retry as often as necessary.
Adjucha Form in the Hollow Era
As an Adjucha, you reach a crossroads: continue towards becoming a Vasto Lorde or transition into an Arrancar.
Arrancar Progression
To ascend to Arrancar, seek out a Crystal Bush in Hueco Mundo, appearing every 30 to 60 minutes, with an average respawn time of 45 minutes. Interacting with one instantly transforms you into an Arrancar, granting access to Hueco Mundo via a keybind. At level 50, you're eligible to pursue your Resurrección, though initially, Arrancars are limited to Kendo skills.
Vasto Lorde Progression
Opting for Vasto Lorde requires ongoing combat and consumption of Hollows to gather Progression Points. Beware, as death results in a 1% loss of these points. Accumulating 800 Progression Points is crucial, with points awarded as follows:
- Hollow: 1 Point
- Gillian: 6 Points
- Adjucha: 4 Points
- Vasto Lorde: 8 Points
- Arrancar: 8 Points
- Espada: 10 Points
Vasto Lorde form in the Hollow Era
Achieving Vasto Lorde status is a formidable challenge, requiring 800 race Progression Points and the collection of all Hollow Items, which have varying drop rates:
- Hollows: Back Fins (Epic, 5% drop chance, +1 HP regeneration), Fin Tail (Legendary, 1% drop chance, +1 Reiatsu regeneration and +1 Speed)
- Gillian: Back Spikes (Rare, 10% drop chance, +1 Reiatsu)
- Adjucha: Tail (Epic, 5% drop chance, +1 Speed), Single Horn (Uncommon, 25% drop chance, +1 Strength), Double Horn (Rare, 10% drop chance, +2 Strength), Triple Horn (Epic, 5%, +3 Strength)
- Vasto Lorde: Spiral Horn (Epic, 5% drop chance, +1 Reiatsu)
Becoming Espada in the Hollow Era
Transitioning from Vasto Lorde to Espada mirrors the Arrancar transformation process. Head to Hueco Mundo, locate a Crystal Bush, and interact with it to ascend to Espada.
To spot a Crystal Bush more easily, adjust your settings in Hueco Mundo by turning off Atmosphere, Bloom, and Depth of Field, then scan the area from a high vantage point.
How to Get Your Resurrección
As an Arrancar or Espada, your ultimate goal is to unlock your Resurrección. Reach level 50, then visit Hueco Mundo and speak with Isen, the King of Hueco Mundo. He'll task you with defeating 50 Arrancars. Upon completion, you can activate your Resurrección when your Rage Bar is fully charged and pulsating. Fill your Rage Bar by dealing or receiving damage. The default keybind for Resurrección is "Y", and it deactivates when you run out of Reiatsu or Rage.

Hollow Era Tips and Tricks
Playing as a Hollow may seem and look cooler, but it's less versatile than evolving as a Shinigami. Prepare for extensive grinding and be aware that as a Hollow, you'll be targeted by both Hollows and Shinigami. If combat becomes overwhelming, use the lockup button to focus on your primary enemy, especially helpful during laggy or buggy moments. Learn how to block enemy attacks quickly, as even low-level foes can deal significant damage, and your health doesn't regenerate fast enough. Death results in minor currency loss, but the real challenge is navigating back to your quest targets. Consider investing in bus teleport to save time and effort. When collecting Skill Points, prioritize Strength and Speed initially, as these are crucial for early game success. When lost, press and hold J (default keybind) to reveal markers around Karakura using your Reiatsu sense.
This concludes our Hollow Era Hollow progression guide. The game is still in development, so expect some bugs and lag, even on high-performance PCs. Before starting your adventure, make sure to redeem your Hollow Era codes for an early boost, as this game presents a challenging journey.
