Bandai Namco Entertainment, the publisher behind Elden Ring, has partnered with Rebel Wolves, a Polish studio comprised of former Witcher 3 developers, for the global release of their debut action RPG, Dawnwalker.
Rebel Wolves and Bandai Namco Forge Partnership for "Dawnwalker"
Further Dawnwalker Details Coming Soon
This collaboration, announced earlier this week, designates Bandai Namco as the worldwide publisher for Dawnwalker, the inaugural title in Rebel Wolves' ambitious RPG saga. Launching in 2025 on PC, PS5, and Xbox, Dawnwalker promises a mature, story-driven AAA experience set in a dark fantasy medieval Europe. Expect more information on Dawnwalker in the coming months.
Founded in 2022 in Warsaw, Poland, Rebel Wolves aims to redefine the RPG genre with its narrative-focused approach. Tomasz Tinc, Rebel Wolves' chief publishing officer, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, stating, "Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe, known for its commitment to RPGs and its support of new IPs, is the ideal partner for our team. We share a common vision, and their history of publishing narrative-driven RPGs speaks volumes. We're eager to collaborate and bring the first chapter of the Dawnwalker saga to players worldwide."
Alberto Gonzalez Lorca, Bandai Namco's VP of business development, echoed this sentiment, highlighting Dawnwalker as a significant addition to their portfolio and emphasizing its importance to their Western market strategy.
Leading the creative charge is Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz, a CD Projekt Red veteran and lead quest designer on The Witcher 3, who joined Rebel Wolves earlier this year as creative director. Co-founder and narrative director Jakub Szamalek, also a CDPR alum with over nine years of writing experience, confirmed Dawnwalker as a new IP. The game's scope is anticipated to be comparable to The Witcher 3's Blood and Wine expansion, with a focus on non-linear storytelling.
Tomaszkiewicz previously commented on the game's design, stating, "Our goal is to create an experience that offers diverse choices and encourages experimentation on replays. Collaborating with such a talented team to craft this experience is a privilege, and I'm excited for everyone to see what we've been working on."
