The popular mobile RPG, The Tale of Food, is closing its doors. Initially launched in China in September 2019 (closed beta), and later distributed by Tencent Games, the game will officially shut down on March 20th, 2025, at 10:00 AM (UTC+8).
The Tale of Food Shutdown Date:
The final curtain call for this unique game, featuring an army of anthropomorphic food characters, is set for March 20th, 2025. In-app purchases have already been disabled as of February 18th, 2025, and new player registration is no longer possible. The game has also been removed from the Google Play Store. Existing players can continue to enjoy the game until the servers close on March 20th.
Refunds for Recent Purchases:
Players who made in-app purchases between January 9th and February 18th, 2025, are eligible for a refund. Contact in-game support or email the developers before March 20th to initiate the refund process. Further details regarding the shutdown terms and conditions can be found on the official The Tale of Food X account.
Server Closures:
It's worth noting that the game's Japan server closed in April 2023, followed by the China server in June 2024. The global server closure marks the final chapter for The Tale of Food.
Community Remains:
While the game itself will be unavailable, the official X (formerly Twitter), Facebook, and Discord communities will remain active, providing a space for players to share memories and connect with fellow food enthusiasts.
