"Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Receives Last Major Update"

Summary

  • Rocksteady releases the final major content update for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.
  • Season 4 Episode 8 is now available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
  • Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League's servers will remain online, but no new content will be developed after the January 14 patch.

Rocksteady Studios, the developer behind Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, has rolled out Season 4 Episode 8, marking the final major content update for this live-service game. Despite the game's launch in February 2024 being met with largely negative reviews, Rocksteady announced less than a year later that support for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League would end on January 14. Players can now download the game's last patch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

While the concept of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League initially promised excitement for superhero enthusiasts, the unexpected incorporation of live-service elements is widely considered the reason for its quick downfall. Just 10 months after its release, on December 9, 2024, Rocksteady confirmed that Season 4 Episode 8 would be the end of the road for the game. Despite the cessation of new content development, Rocksteady assured players that all online features would continue to operate, allowing fans to enjoy the game with friends.

Following a brief period of server downtime, Rocksteady has officially released the final content update for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. With servers now back online, players on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC can dive into Season 4 Episode 8: Balance. This update introduces an Infamy Set inspired by the DC Super-Villain Libra, along with a range of potent new Notorious weapons and a new Mayhem mission, marking the ultimate showdown with Brainiac. Additionally, the patch includes crucial bug fixes and gameplay adjustments, such as a reduction in XP requirements for Squad Levels.

Even after the release of Season 4 Episode 8, the game's servers will continue to function. Thanks to the Season 4 Episode 7 update in December, players can also enjoy Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League offline, accessing the main campaign and all seasonal story missions without an internet connection. While Rocksteady hasn't announced a complete server shutdown, the offline mode ensures fans can still play even if servers are ever taken down.

For those who missed out on experiencing this DC anti-hero title, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League has been added to PlayStation Plus. Subscribers can grab this controversial live-service game, along with The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe and Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered, until February 3.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Patch Notes for Season 4 Episode 8 Update

MEDIEVAL GENIUS

Explore the medieval Elseworld further in Episode 8: Balance, with new twists on familiar locations and entirely new areas to discover. Embark on your quest at The Quarry, a fortified citadel you must conquer to defeat the tyrant Brainiac. The Arena offers a venue for jousting tournaments or interdimensional battles, while the statues of King Jor-El and Queen Lara Lor-Van will inspire you with their depiction of chivalry and honor.

LIBRA INFAMY SET

The Infamy Set for Episode 8 draws inspiration from Libra, a formidable DC Super-Villain obsessed with balance. This set applies stacks of Scales of Libra to enemies, increasing both the damage they deal and receive by 50% per stack. It promotes a high-risk, high-reward playstyle that encourages bold and dynamic gameplay.

NOTORIOUS WEAPONS

Complementing Libra’s Infamy Set, The Silencer’s Complete Silence weapons offer a 200% damage bonus against enemies with Scales of Libra stacks. The Alt-Fire mode delivers a massive 1,000% bonus damage and creates a Silencer Zone at the impact point, reducing enemy damage by 100% within the zone. This makes it an excellent tool for crowd control while dealing significant damage.

Doctor Sivana’s Magic Bullets are perfect for rapid enemy elimination. These bullets pierce through foes, apply Scales of Libra stacks, and have a chance to electrify hit targets. Strategically positioning yourself to line up multiple enemies can unleash devastating effects.

Chronos’ Equilibrium enhances the glass cannon playstyle, providing a 25% bonus damage for every 1% of missing Shield. This encourages a risky yet powerful approach, keeping you in the heart of the battle.

GAMEPLAY CHANGES

  • Adjusted the duration of Deathstroke’s Suicide Strike to align more closely with other characters’ abilities.
  • Reduced XP requirements for Squad Levels, with retroactive rewards for previously earned XP. Players may see an increase in Squad Levels and extra Squad Points to spend after updating to Episode 8.

  • Fixed a bug for players in Japan that caused LuthorCoin to expire prematurely.
