Hungry Horrors Steam Demo Out Now, Mobile Launch Soon

Hungry Horrors, an innovative roguelite deckbuilder from the UK-based Clumsy Bear Studio, is shaking up the gaming scene with its unique premise. Instead of battling monsters, players take on the role of a princess who must cook traditional British and Irish dishes to appease folklore creatures. The game has recently launched its first playable demo, which is now available on Steam, Itch, and GOG.

Following its PC debut, Clumsy Bear Studio plans to bring Hungry Horrors to mobile and console platforms, although an official release date has yet to be announced. The developers have been actively engaging with the community, showcasing the game at events like the London Game Festival 2025.

The Steam demo offers a comprehensive preview of what players can expect. It features two handcrafted biomes, six hungry monsters to serve, two intense boss fights, and four NPCs to interact with. Additionally, there are non-combat zones like the Nook and the Trove, where players can regroup and refine their culinary strategies.

More About Hungry Horrors

In Hungry Horrors, players step into the shoes of a princess tasked with cooking to satisfy the hunger of legendary folklore creatures. The game ingeniously merges deckbuilding mechanics with culinary arts, resulting in a delightfully quirky experience.

Boasting a retro pixel art style and gothic atmosphere, Hungry Horrors stands out with its humorous take on traditional British and Irish cuisine. Players will find themselves preparing dishes like Bara Brith and Cranachan, tailored to the specific tastes of creatures like the blood-thirsty swamp witch Jenny Greenteeth or the child-snatching hag Black Annis. If the meal doesn't meet their standards, players might end up as the next course!

The gameplay involves discovering the likes and dislikes of each monster, from legends like Grendel to Redcap, each with their unique cravings. The deckbuilding aspect adds strategic depth as players combine ingredients, spices, and herbs to craft meals that not only satisfy but also impress.

As players advance, they unlock new recipes and ingredients, along with legendary artifacts and rescued familiars. To dive deeper into the world of Hungry Horrors, visit their Steam page.
