Midjiwan has dropped a major update for The Battle of Polytopia; it’s the new rework for the Aquarion Tribe. The indie studio has rolled out the new version of the first special tribe that made its debut back in 2017.The Aquarion Are Getting A Serious MakeoverLet’s give you the full scoop on their new look. Firstly, the Aquarion land units are now sporting mermaid tails (so, they’re either fully aquatic or amphibious). These fishy folks can now flit across water with ease, though they’re a bit sluggish on dry land. They’ve also introduced flooded terrain that lets land and naval units share the same space for the first time.Buildings have also gone aquatic. You can now construct structures on water, and Lost Cities can be found in deep-sea ruins. It makes for the perfect base of operations for those who prefer to wage war from the waves. There’s even a new structure called the Atoll that connects water cities, so no more need for roads! The update also revives Aqua Crops, which are now permanently part of the Aquarion’s toolkit. These crops and farms work much like their land-based counterparts.Get ready to meet some new sea creatures in The Battle of Polytopia, courtesy of the new Aquarion Tribe. Sharks are now in the game, offering surprise attacks. Puffers bring long-range bombardments to the table, and Jellies zap foes with electric shocks. The popular Tridentions and Crabs are back, too! Crabs now flood the tiles they cross, making them a perfect pair for the mermaid-tailed troops. Curious to see what it looks like? Catch a glimpse here!
