Unlocking the True Shu Ending in Dynasty Warriors: Origins
To experience the true ending for Liu Bei's Shu faction in Dynasty Warriors: Origins, you must first complete the main Shu campaign. This unlocks the ability to replay stages, and you'll notice a golden banner next to "The Battle of Changban." This signifies an alternative path to victory.
Normally, this stage involves escorting Liu Bei to safety while Zhang Fei defends the Changban Bridge. However, for the true ending, you must defeat Cao Cao directly. This is a challenging task, requiring you to overcome Cao Cao's army almost single-handedly. Failure to defeat Cao Cao before Liu Bei is defeated means restarting the stage.
To improve your chances, consider these strategies:
- Reduce Difficulty: Set the game to "Historian" mode. The sheer number of enemies makes this a significantly easier challenge on a lower difficulty.
- Strategic Partner: Choose Zhang Fei as your partner. Starting closer to Cao Cao's forces reduces travel time and allows for a quicker engagement.
- Musou Meter Management: Ensure your Musou Rage meter is full before engaging Cao Cao's main forces. This will be crucial for overcoming his Grand Tactics, which involve eliminating enemy officers and a large number of soldiers. A weapon like twin pikes is highly recommended for efficiency in clearing large groups of soldiers.
Once Cao Cao is defeated, a few additional missions remain before you reach the Shu true ending.
