Community suggestions ranged widely, including a Smash TV remake and various Star Fox-inspired concepts. Pilestedt confirmed prior internal consideration of a Smash TV remake and hinted at a Star Fox-esque title within the "rail game" genre.
While specifics remain undisclosed, Arrowhead's active community engagement is evident. The success of Helldivers 2, a standout title of 2024, sets a high benchmark for their next endeavor.
A recent Helldivers 2 update, including the "Omens of Tyranny" expansion (shadow-dropped at the 2024 Game Awards), has significantly boosted player numbers on PS5. This update introduced the much-anticipated Illuminate enemy faction, a 4x4 Fast Recon Vehicle, and new urban warfare maps, delighting players. With a rumored Killzone crossover also on the horizon, Helldivers 2 appears poised for continued success in 2025.
