Here are some essential tips we wish we had known at the start of our *Rune Slayer* adventure to make your experience smoother and more enjoyable.

Do Not Randomly Attack Other Players

When we first heard about *Rune Slayer*'s full-loot PvP system, we feared it would lead to chaos. Thankfully, that's not entirely the case. **In *Rune Slayer*, you don't lose anything when you die**, even if it's at the hands of another player. You simply respawn and continue your journey.

However, **attacking other players comes with a price**: you gain a bounty. The more players you kill, the higher your bounty grows, and the more items you'll drop if you die. Essentially, you turn the game into a full-loot PvP experience by engaging in player kills. Therefore, **we advise against attacking other players** unless you have a solid reason or a group of allies to back you up.

Craft Bags ASAP

You'll quickly discover that both your bank and inventory spaces are limited in *Rune Slayer*. With a cap at 50 items, your inventory can fill up faster than you might expect. To manage this, **the game allows you to craft bags**. You can equip up to two bags, and the first one you can make is the **Cotton Bag**.

To craft it, **collect Cotton from north of Wayshire and Flax from the south** (be cautious as the south can be dangerous due to mobs). Each Cotton Bag adds an extra 10 slots to your inventory, so prioritize crafting these as soon as possible.

Your Pets Don’t Actually Die

There's a common misunderstanding that your tamed pets die permanently when their health hits zero. This isn't true in *Rune Slayer*. **When a pet 'dies', it's unavailable for summoning for 5 minutes**. You can check the cooldown by holding T. Once the cooldown is over, hold T again to resummon your pet.

**Bonus Tip:** To quickly heal your pet, store and then unstore it at the stable master. You have one free slot, so make use of it.

Grab All the Quests (Yes, All of Them)

*Rune Slayer* is packed with quests, many of which follow the familiar "Kill 10 X" format seen in other MMORPGs. They're not particularly memorable, and you might not even read them all. To manage this, **accept every quest you encounter**, including those on the Job board. Completing multiple quests simultaneously is far more efficient than tackling them one by one. You might even find yourself completing multiple quests in one go without realizing it.

Craft Everything at Least Once (Even Things You Don’t Need)

While you should prioritize crafting items you need, don't hesitate to use **spare materials to craft items you might not immediately need**. Crafting new items for the first time often unlocks more advanced recipes. For instance, smelting your first Iron Ore unlocked a range of new Iron Armor crafts for us. So, be adventurous with your crafting to discover new possibilities.

Join a Guild

*Rune Slayer* is designed to be solo-friendly, but as you delve deeper into the game, you'll encounter **more challenging enemies** that are best tackled with a group. **Joining a guild** is the easiest way to find a group for these battles. You can announce your need for a guild in the general chat or use the official *Rune Slayer* Discord server to find one. Having a guild will make taking down tough foes much easier.
