Monster Hunter Wilds is set to receive its first Title Update tomorrow, introducing quests that encourage competition for fast clear times. In anticipation of this update, Capcom has issued a strong statement regarding cheating, aiming to maintain a fair and enjoyable gaming environment for all players.
In a recent post on the Monster Hunter account on X/Twitter, Capcom warned: "To ensure a fun and fair experience for our players, we will take action against accounts participating in fraudulent ranking activity, such as the use of cheating or external tools. Accounts deemed to be in breach of this may be suspended, or have restrictions placed on them, such as being unable to receive rewards from these quests."
Capcom emphasized that not only will cheaters face consequences, but players who participate in multiplayer hunts with cheaters could also see their quest completion times invalidated and their "right to rewards" revoked for the entire party. The company advised players to be cautious and avoid playing multiplayer with those engaging in prohibited activities or those suspected of doing so. They also encouraged players to report any fraudulent activity they encounter during quests.
These competitive quests will offer attractive rewards in the form of cosmetic pendants. Some rewards will be distributed to all participants, while others will be awarded based on Completion Time or the hunter's ranking. This explains Capcom's stringent measures against cheating, as it directly impacts the fairness of reward distribution and completion times.
The Time-Based Competition Quests will be available with Title Update 1 and can be accessed through the new Arena Quest Counter in the Grand Hub in Suja. To participate, players must first complete a special tutorial mission to unlock the Grand Hub. Make sure to head there as soon as Title Update 1 goes live tomorrow in Monster Hunter Wilds.
