Established in March 2024, Pokémon Works, a subsidiary of The Pokémon Company, will now oversee the development and future updates of Pokémon Sleep. Previously, this responsibility was shared between Select Button Co., Ltd. and The Pokémon Company, Ltd. An in-app announcement (currently only visible in the Japanese version) confirmed the gradual transition of development and operation from Select Button to Pokémon Works. The impact on the global version remains unclear.

While Pokémon Works’ portfolio is currently limited, their website states that the company was formed by The Pokémon Company and Iruka Co., Ltd. They share a location in Shinjuku, Tokyo with ILCA, the studio behind Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, and a co-developer of Pokémon HOME. Pokémon Works' representative director, Takuya Iwasaki, confirmed their involvement in Pokémon HOME development.

Their stated mission is to "create an experience that makes Pokémon more real... so that everyone can enjoy meeting and adventuring with Pokémon." How this vision will be integrated into Pokémon Sleep’s future remains to be seen.
