Nintendo's Alarmo alarm clock: Japan release delayed despite global availability. Due to unexpectedly high demand and insufficient stock, Nintendo Japan has postponed the general retail release of its popular Alarmo alarm clock.
Production Shortages Cause Delay
The initial February 2025 launch date has been pushed back indefinitely, according to a recent announcement on the Nintendo Japan website. Current production and inventory levels are unable to meet the substantial demand. At this time, there's no word on whether this will impact international availability, currently slated for March 2025.
In the interim, a pre-order system will be implemented exclusively for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers in Japan. This pre-order window opens mid-December, with shipments expected in early February 2025. The precise pre-order start date will be announced shortly.
The Alarmo: A Hit Alarm Clock
Launched globally in October 2024, the Alarmo alarm clock features iconic melodies from popular Nintendo franchises like Super Mario, Zelda, Pikmin, Splatoon, and RingFit Adventure, with more to be added via future updates. Its immediate popularity overwhelmed Nintendo, leading to the halting of online orders and a lottery system for remaining stock. Both online and physical stock quickly sold out in Japan and even at the New York Nintendo store.
