Galar Pokémon Arrive in Pokémon GO Event

The Steely Resolve event in Pokémon GO, running from January 21st to 26th, marks the highly anticipated debut of the Corviknight evolutionary line: Rookidee, Corvisquire, and Corviknight. This arrival fulfills a long-standing player request and expands the game's Galar region Pokémon roster.

The event's arrival was subtly foreshadowed in December 2024's Dual Destiny Season loading screen, featuring Rookidee and Corviknight before their official announcement.

The Steely Resolve event offers a comprehensive experience:

  • New Pokémon: Rookidee, Corvisquire, and Corviknight make their Pokémon GO debut.
  • Special Research: A new Dual Destiny Special Research questline with unique rewards.
  • Field Research Tasks: Event-specific research tasks to complete.
  • Increased Spawns: Boosted spawn rates for Clefairy, Paldean Wooper, Carbink, and other Pokémon (some shiny-capable).
  • Bonuses: Magnetic Lure Modules attract specific Pokémon, including Onix, Beldum, Shieldon, and Rookidee. Charged TMs can remove Frustration from Shadow Pokémon.
  • Raids: One-star, five-star (featuring Deoxys and Dialga), and Mega Raids (Mega Gallade and Mega Medicham) will be available. Several raid Pokémon have a chance to be shiny.
  • Eggs: 2km Eggs will contain Shieldon, Carbink, Mareanie, and Rookidee (some shiny-capable).
  • Featured Attacks: Evolving specific Pokémon during the event grants them powerful, event-exclusive attacks (e.g., Corviknight learning Iron Head).
  • GO Battle Week: A concurrent event offering increased Stardust rewards, expanded battle limits, and a free Timed Research with Grimsley-inspired avatar rewards. Various GO Battle League formats will be active.

Beyond the Corviknight line's debut, January also features Shadow Raids (including the return of Shadow Ho-Oh), Dynamax Raids with Kanto Legendary Birds, and the return of the Pokémon GO Community Day Classic. This makes for a jam-packed start to the year for Pokémon GO players.
