Curious about Artian weapons in *Monster Hunter Wilds*? These new additions bring a unique twist to the game, allowing you to craft weapons tailored to your preferred stats and elements. They're a late-game feature, so let's delve into everything you need to know about unlocking and crafting these powerful tools.

How to Craft Artian Weapons in Monster Hunter Wilds

Monster Hunter Wilds Artian Weapon Crafting

Unlocking the ability to craft Artian weapons starts with completing the main storyline to reach High Rank. From there, you must defeat your first Tempered monster. This formidable foe will be recognizable by its numerous scars and the NPCs' comments about its toughness.

After defeating this beast, Gemma will approach you to discuss Artian weapons, triggering a tutorial that explains the crafting process. Each weapon type requires three components, and you must have at least one of each type to start crafting. However, the complexity doesn't end there.

Each component comes with a rarity value, an element type, and an Artian bonus. To craft a weapon, components must share the same rarity value. The weapon's elemental effect is determined by the most prevalent element among the components. For instance, using two water and one lightning component will result in a water-based weapon. Using three water components will enhance the water infusion, but using three different elements will yield no elemental infusion at all.

The Artian bonus offers a choice between an attack boost, which increases overall damage, or an affinity boost, which enhances your critical hit chance. This choice depends on your playstyle and preferences. To proceed with crafting, you'll need to gather Artian materials.

How to Get Artian Materials in Monster Hunter Wilds

Monster Hunter Wilds Artian Material Collection

Acquiring Artian materials involves hunting Tempered monsters in High Rank areas. Once you've defeated your first Tempered monster, you'll start encountering one or two in each area. You'll receive notifications when they appear, and they're easily identifiable on the map by their blue outlines.

Defeating or capturing these monsters will yield Artian parts, which you can collect alongside main mission rewards and decorations. The rarity of these parts increases as your hunter rank progresses, ensuring a natural upgrade path. While there isn't a direct correlation between the monster you hunt and the specific Artian drops, focus on hunting monsters you enjoy or those from which you need parts for other weapons or armor pieces.
