NetEase Games has confirmed a robust post-launch content plan for Marvel Rivals, promising a new hero every six weeks. This commitment, revealed by Creative Director Guangyun Chen in an interview with Metro, ensures a consistent influx of fresh characters alongside seasonal updates.
Each three-month season will be split into two halves, each introducing a new playable hero. Chen emphasized the goal of continuously enhancing the player experience and maintaining community excitement.
"Every season we’ll be rolling out fresh seasonal stories, new maps, and new heroes. We’ll actually be breaking down each season into two halves," Chen stated. "The length of one season is three months. And for each half of the season, we will introduce a new hero."
Marvel Rivals launched with a strong roster including Wolverine, Magneto, Spider-Man, and others, but the challenge lies in sustaining this momentum. Season 1 showcased Mister Fantastic and the Invisible Woman in the first half, followed by The Thing and the Human Torch in the second. Future seasons are anticipated to feature characters like Blade (rumored for Season 2), Daredevil, Deadpool, and more X-Men.
Beyond new heroes, NetEase plans ongoing balance adjustments and gameplay refinements. The game's initial success suggests a continued commitment to expansion and improvement. Further details can be found in articles covering player strategies, including the use of the Invisible Woman against bots, the Hero Hot List, and the use of mods despite potential bans.
