Reimagining a Classic: The House of the Dead 2 Remake Arrives Spring 2025

Get ready for a blast from the past! Forever Entertainment and MegaPixel Studio are bringing the iconic 1998 arcade rail shooter, The House of the Dead 2, to modern platforms with a complete remake. Launching Spring 2025 on all major consoles and PC, this updated version promises enhanced visuals, new environments, and exciting gameplay additions.

Originally a standout in the late 90s, offering a unique alternative to the then-popular Resident Evil franchise, The House of the Dead 2 delivered thrilling on-rails shooting action and buckets of zombie gore. This remake will faithfully recreate the arcade experience, but with a significant upgrade.

The announcement trailer showcases the game's revitalized graphics and remastered soundtrack. Players will once again step into the shoes of a secret agent, battling relentless hordes of undead to prevent a catastrophic outbreak. Beyond the core gameplay, the remake introduces expanded environments, multiple game modes (including Classic Campaign and Boss Mode), branching level paths, and multiple endings. Cooperative play is also confirmed, allowing players to team up and tackle the zombie onslaught together.

The House of the Dead 2: Remake will be available on Nintendo Switch, PC (GOG and Steam), PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. The game aims to capture the essence of classic arcade rail shooters with high-energy music, explosive action, and combo counters, all polished with modern visuals and an improved user interface.

The resurgence of classic horror games continues, with The House of the Dead 2: Remake joining the ranks of recently revived titles like the Resident Evil remakes and the Clock Tower remaster. Zombie fans and retro gaming enthusiasts alike should keep an eye out for further updates.
