How to Start the Hermit Quest in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
The Hermit quest unlocks automatically upon completing quests for blacksmith Radovan. After finding the lost cart, report back to Radovan. He'll then mention forging a wedding gift, initiating the Hermit questline. Before confronting the hermit, you'll need to speak with Troskowitz villagers.
Gathering Information About the Hermit
First, visit the Troskowitz tavern and speak with Innkeeper Betty, exhausting all dialogue options. Afterward, talk to other villagers (the alehouse maid and general trader are good options) to gather more information.
Talk to Gerda and Stanislav
Speak with Gerda in Troskowitz; she witnessed an apparition. Offer Groschen or attempt a dialogue check to obtain information. Next, talk to Stanislav in Apollonia; again, either pay or pass a dialogue check.
Gather Evidence
With information gathered, find the cross Gerda mentioned. Dig the grave (you'll need a spade; buy one from the Troskowitz trader or find one in cemeteries) to uncover Groschen and documents about the Knights of the Cross. Read the documents. Then, proceed to the quest marker in Apollonia; examine the black horse in the hut and clearing for your next clue.
Talk to the Hermit
Go to the hermit's hut. If you haven't gathered evidence, he won't talk. Once you have the evidence, choose these dialogue options: "You're suspicious," exhaust all dialogue about clues and evidence, then "Out with it!" He'll reveal his true identity as Konrad. Before giving the sword, he asks you to speak with Margaret and give her a cross.
Visit Margaret in the Apollonia cemetery, give her the cross, and optionally help her dig Ambrose's grave (Sinful Soul quest). You can return to Konrad immediately if desired.
Help Konrad or Kill Him
Approaching the hut, you'll find Crusaders. You can help them kill Konrad or help Konrad escape. Sneaking to the hut, Konrad will talk. Tell him you completed the quest and ask about the sword. Choose to help or kill him. Killing Konrad is often easier, especially with the Crusaders' help.
Get the Hermit's Sword
North of the hut, find two tangled oak trees; the sword is there. Take it and return to Radovan in Tachov to complete the quest.
