Disney Dreamlight Valley's Storybook Vale expansion introduces a plethora of new ingredients, some easier to find than others. Mussels, a type of shellfish described as surprisingly good water filters, present a particular challenge. Unlike some other shellfish, Mussels only appear in specific Storybook Vale biomes, and their spawn locations can be unpredictable.
Locating Mussels in Disney Dreamlight Valley
Mussels are found on the ground throughout Mythopia, specifically within these areas:
- The Elysian Fields
- The Fiery Plains
- The Statue's Shadow
- Mount Olympus
While some players report finding Mussels easily, others experience less frequent spawns. Certain areas, like those near Trials (e.g., near the first Trial in the Elysian Fields where Hades is unlocked), may yield Mussels more consistently. A cluster of Mussels can also be found behind a hidden bush area in the Elysian Fields during Hades' "A Moth to a Flame" quest. Unlocking this area may increase Mussel spawns across Mythopia.
Utilizing Mussels in Disney Dreamlight Valley
Unlike some other seafood, Mussels aren't used in crafting. Their primary use is as a cooking ingredient in these Storybook Vale recipes:
- Garlic Steam Mussels
- Mussel Risotto
- Steamed Mussels
Alternatively, consuming a Mussel restores 150 energy, or you can sell them for 75 Gold Star Coins at Goofy's Stalls.
