Alienware Aurora R16 RTX 5080 Gaming PC Launched at $2,399

by Bella Apr 19,2025

Starting today, Dell is offering an incredible deal on the Alienware Aurora R16 gaming PC, now equipped with the cutting-edge GeForce RTX 5080 GPU, for just $2,399.99 shipped. This price is a steal compared to other RTX 5080-equipped prebuilt systems, especially considering that prices have been on an upward trend since the RTX 50 series debuted in January. At Dell, the only other prebuilt option with an RTX 5080 GPU comes with a hefty price tag of over $4,000. If you're considering building your own PC, good luck finding a standalone RTX 5080 GPU without spending as much as you would on this entire system.

This Alienware Aurora R16 gaming PC boasts an Intel Core Ultra 7 265F CPU, a GeForce RTX 5080 GPU, 16GB of DDR5-5200MHz RAM, and a 1TB NVMe SSD. The current-gen Intel Core Ultra 7 265F Meteor Lake CPU reaches a max turbo frequency of 5.3GHz with 20 cores and a 30MB cache. It's cooled efficiently by a 240mm all-in-one liquid cooler, and the system is powered by a robust 1,000W 80PLUS Platinum power supply.

The RTX 5080 is one of the new Blackwell graphics cards that are nearly impossible to find on the market. In our Nvidia GeForce RTX 5080 FE review, Jackie notes, "If you already have a high-end graphics card from the last couple of years, the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5080 might not be worth the upgrade – its performance lead over the RTX 4080 is marginal, though DLSS 4 Multi-Frame Generation does enhance visuals in supported games. However, if you're upgrading from an older GPU and seeking a significant performance boost, the RTX 5080 delivers – especially if you're keen on Nvidia's AI enhancements."

New for 2025: The Alienware Area-51 Chassis

Dell introduced the new Alienware Area-51 gaming PC at CES 2025. While the chassis design echoes the 2024 R16 system, it includes minor aesthetic and cooling updates along with upgraded components. The I/O panel has been repositioned to the top of the case, and the tempered glass window now covers the entire side panel, eliminating the need for side panel vents. Air intakes are now located at the bottom and front of the case, promoting a positive airflow design for a cleaner interior. The internal components have been refreshed with a new motherboard, faster RAM, and a more powerful power supply to support the latest CPUs and RTX 50 series GPUs.

RTX 5080 and 5090 GPUs Are Sold Out Everywhere

The initial release of Nvidia GeForce RTX 50-series graphics cards sold out within the first hour of preorders. The RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 were the first to hit the market, followed by the RTX 5070 Ti in February. Unfortunately, the same scarcity applies to prebuilt gaming PCs featuring these new GPUs, which are either sold out, have increased in price, or face extended delivery delays.
