Atomfall: A New Gameplay Trailer Unveils Post-Apocalyptic England
Rebellion Developments' upcoming first-person survival game, Atomfall, receives an extensive gameplay showcase. Set in an alternate 1960s England following a nuclear catastrophe, Atomfall offers a unique blend of survival mechanics and combat reminiscent of titles like Fallout and STALKER.
The recently released seven-minute trailer highlights key gameplay features. Players will explore desolate landscapes, including quarantine zones, villages, and research bunkers, scavenging resources to survive. Combat will involve both melee and ranged encounters against robotic adversaries and cultist factions, alongside navigating hazardous environments.
While the initially revealed weaponry appears relatively standard (a cricket bat, revolver, shotgun, and bolt-action rifle), the trailer emphasizes weapon upgrades and the potential for discovering additional firearms within the game world. Crafting plays a significant role, allowing players to create healing items and tools such as Molotov cocktails and sticky bombs. A metal detector aids in locating hidden supplies and crafting materials. Furthermore, a skill tree system, categorized into melee, ranged combat, survival, and conditioning, allows for character progression and customization.
Initially revealed during Xbox's Summer Game Fest showcase, Atomfall will launch on March 27th for Xbox, PlayStation, and PC, and will be available on Xbox Game Pass from day one. Rebellion plans to release another in-depth video soon, promising further details for eager players.
