Insomniac Games' Ted Price Reveals Unmade Resistance 4 Pitch
Insomniac Games founder and retiring president, Ted Price, recently revealed in an interview with Kinda Funny Games that a Resistance 4 pitch was developed but ultimately never greenlit. While the concept was deemed "wonderful," Price cited timing and market opportunity as the reasons for its cancellation.
He expressed the team's enthusiasm for continuing the Resistance storyline, highlighting the series' compelling alternate history setting and the potential for further exploration of the Chimera's origins and future.
The Resistance series, a trilogy of first-person shooters, debuted on the PlayStation 3. Following its conclusion, Insomniac shifted focus to other projects, including the critically acclaimed Marvel's Spider-Man series and new Ratchet & Clank installments. The series is set in an alternate 1951 where the UK faces a Chimera alien invasion.
Price's retirement announcement earlier this year marked the end of his 30-year tenure at Insomniac. Chad Dezern, Ryan Schneider, and Jen Huang have been appointed as Co-Studio Heads to succeed him. Insomniac's latest release, Marvel's Spider-Man 2, recently launched on PC, with Marvel's Wolverine slated as their next major project.
