Every Marvel TV Show in the Disney+ Era Ranked

by Sadie Feb 26,2025

Marvel's small-screen adaptations have a rich history, from the classic "Incredible Hulk" to the Netflix series featuring Daredevil and Luke Cage. While previous attempts to integrate these shows into the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) faltered (remember "Runaways"?), 2021 marked a turning point. Marvel Studios launched a wave of interconnected Disney+ series, deeply entwined with the blockbuster film franchise.

With "Spider-Man: Freshman Year" as the latest addition to the Disney+ Marvel lineup, we've compiled a ranking of the preceding 12 shows. Our team of Marvel experts independently ranked each series, and this is the aggregated result. "Spider-Man: Freshman Year"'s ranking will be added upon its conclusion.

  1. Secret Invasion

Disney+
A widespread consensus places "Secret Invasion" at the bottom. Despite the source material's significance in Marvel Comics, the series fell short. Director Ali Selim's admission of not reading the comics highlights a disconnect. While creative liberties can enhance stories, "Secret Invasion" lacked the necessary vision. Its attempt to emulate "Captain America: The Winter Soldier"'s espionage tone was hampered by slow pacing, a jarring AI-generated opening, the unceremonious death of a key female character, and an underwhelming new character unlikely to reappear.

  1. Echo

Disney+
"Echo" significantly surpasses "Secret Invasion." Alaqua Cox's return as Echo delivers an action-packed narrative exploring her life on the reservation. The series balances her powers, past, and relationship with Kingpin. A shortened episode count left some viewers wanting more, but the series boasts impressive action sequences, notably a fight with Daredevil. Its groundbreaking predominantly Indigenous cast is also noteworthy.

  1. Moon Knight

Disney+
Starring Oscar Isaac, "Moon Knight" didn't resonate as strongly with our voters. The exploration of Marc Spector's multiple personalities creates a dark and surreal story blending elements of various genres. The introduction of Scarlet Scarab as a standout character and strong performances from F. Murray Abraham and Ethan Hawke couldn't elevate it higher.

  1. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier

Disney+
Despite the chemistry between Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan, "The Falcon and the Winter Soldier" fell short of expectations. Murky morality, heavy reliance on the Blip storyline, and a focus on espionage over action contributed to its lower ranking. The show's development was impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, potentially affecting its final product. Nevertheless, its narrative elements are crucial to understanding the current MCU, particularly the "Thunderbolts" film.
