RYFFC is an app where YOU are in Control!
RYFFC is a safe and comfortable place where people can freely post on the news without fear of public prosecution. RYFFC redefines the stigma that the concept of news now exudes by democratizing the generation, consumption, and engagement of news while creating a safe and engaging social experience. This is a NEW WAY to NEWS. RYFFC is a place where people will be exposed to all thoughts, articles, and opinions. There is no censorship on our app, but that doesn't mean it has to be a triggering experience. We have anti-bullying systems in place and a comprehensive self-moderation system for users to avoid posts they aren't ready to see yet.
Ryff
A huge part of RYFFC is the Ryff. The Ryff is a short "hot take" generated by the user about the article. By design, the Ryff is limited to 88 characters. Fellow Ryffers are riffing on articles, pop culture, and news without the traditional comment structure. If you come across a Ryff that you want to react to, you can engage with a Ryffer through a Ryff Back. Here at RYFFC, we take turns, so be smart with your words because you can only Ryff on another's Ryff once until they respond.
Self Moderation
At RYFFC, our users self-select the level of controversy or triggering material that they want to see at any given time. We have three levels of moderation: G, M, and BE.
- G is for “General” audience moderation level. This is for users who want to view only mild or non-controversial content.
- M is for “Moderate” audience moderation level. This is for users who want to view mild to moderately controversial content.
- BE is for “Bleeding Edge” audience moderation level. This is for users who want to view all available content, including highly controversial content.
Voting
Paired with self-moderation, a user gets to vote on what level of moderation the articles are placed.
Superboost
Superboost is a fun and exciting way to make your "Like" worth more. If you come across a post that you really like, you can give it an extra boost.
Like/Dislike
Same old like/dislike, new take. Instead of pushing the thumb, try swiping left and right on the article.
