Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio is celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Yakuza/Like a Dragon series by letting fans vote on the next line of official merchandise. A whopping 100 bizarre and wonderful items are up for grabs, with the top two vote-getters slated for production and release within the next two years. The poll is currently only available in Japanese, but voting can be done on the official website.
While some options are more conventional, like a 20th-anniversary hoodie or pencil case, many others draw inspiration from the series' famously eccentric history. These include truly unique items such as:
- Munan Suzuki's cult outfit from Yakuza 0.
- The giant traffic cone used by Majima in Yakuza Kiwami.
- The intriguingly named "Puffy Gold Pants."
- Majima's sake from Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth.
- Akiyama's gold watch.
- Kiryu's fountain pen from Yakuza 6: The Song of Life.
- Kashiwagi's tambourine from Yakuza: Like a Dragon.
- Kiryu's wrestling mask from Yakuza 3.
- Saejima's prison uniform from Yakuza 4.
The already busy 2025 anniversary year will see the release of Like a Dragon: Pirate of the Caribbean on February 21st. While a second release is not yet confirmed, it's not entirely out of the realm of possibility given RGG Studio's prolific output in recent years. The studio has released nine games in the last five years alone, demonstrating their impressive development speed. This includes titles like Yakuza: Like a Dragon, Judgment Remastered, Lost Judgment, Like a Dragon: Ishin, Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name, Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, and two Super Monkey Ball games, plus an enhanced remaster of Virtua Fighter 5.
