Stellar Blade's Festive Holiday Update: A Cozy Christmas in Xion

Get ready for some holiday cheer in Stellar Blade! Shift Up is launching a festive event on December 17th, bringing Christmas spirit to the game. This update includes new costumes, decorations, a mini-game, and a new option to control seasonal content. Let's dive into the details.

Stellar Blade Holiday Update

New Holiday Outfits and Customization:

Deck the halls (and Eve!) with new Christmas-themed outfits! The update features festive attire for Eve, Adam, and even the Drone:

  • Santa Dress (Eve)
  • Rudolph Pack (Drone)
  • I’m No Santa (Adam)

Eve's holiday look can be further customized with a new Santa Girl hairstyle and accessories like Snow Crystal Glasses, Wreath Earrings, and Sleigh Ear Cuffs.

Festive Xion and a New Mini-Game:

Xion gets a festive makeover, adorned with warm lights and red, green, and white decorations. The Last Gulp and Eve's camp also receive the holiday treatment, complete with seasonal BGM ("Dawn (Winter)" and "Take me away").

A new mini-game is also introduced! While details are scarce, it involves shooting targets on a holiday-themed drone for special rewards.

Control Your Seasonal Content:

A welcome addition is the ability to enable or disable seasonal events, including the Nier:Automata DLC. This option is found in the game's Settings under Gameplay -> Seasonal Event Content. Choose from:

  • Auto: Automatically enables/disables based on the season.
  • Disable: Deactivates seasonal content regardless of the season.
  • Enable: Activates seasonal content regardless of the season.

Note: Changing this setting requires a game restart.

Mixed Reception:

While the update has been largely well-received, with many players embracing "Christmas Eve," some fans question the frequency of event updates in a single-player game with a relatively short playtime (around 30 hours). The requirement to restart the game to fully experience the seasonal content is also a point of contention for some.
