Marvel Snap's Amazing Spider-Season Swings into Action!
September brings a thrilling new season to Marvel Snap (Free), themed around everyone's favorite web-slinger and his extensive rogues gallery! This season introduces a game-changing mechanic: Activate abilities. Unlike "On Reveal," Activate abilities let you choose when to trigger a card's effect, offering strategic depth and counterplay options.
The Season Pass card, Symbiote Spider-Man, perfectly embodies this new mechanic. A 4-cost, 6-power powerhouse, his Activate ability lets you absorb the lowest-cost card at a location and copy its effect, even triggering On Reveal abilities again! Beyond the Season Pass, several new cards join the fray:
- Silver Sable: A 1-cost, 1-power card with an On Reveal that steals 2 power from the top card of your opponent's deck. A sneaky addition to many decks.
- Madame Web: An Ongoing ability card that lets you move one card at her location to another location once per turn.
- Arana: A 1-cost, 1-power card with an Activate ability that moves your next played card to the right and grants it +2 power. A valuable addition to movement-focused strategies.
- Scarlet Spider (Ben Reilly): A 4-cost, 5-power card with an Activate ability that spawns an identical clone at another location. Prepare for clone armies!
Two new locations also shake up the gameplay:
- Brooklyn Bridge: A classic Spider-Man location with a unique twist: you can't play cards there two turns in a row. Strategic placement is key!
- Otto's Lab: This location mirrors Otto Octavius himself; your next played card there pulls a card from your opponent's hand into play. Expect surprises!
