Smite 2's Open Beta Launch: January 14, 2025
Get ready! Smite 2, the highly anticipated sequel to the popular MOBA, launches its free-to-play open beta on January 14, 2025. This marks a significant milestone for the Unreal Engine 5-powered game, initially unveiled in 2024 after a decade-long wait.
This open beta will introduce a wealth of new content, including:
- Aladdin: The first God from the Tales of Arabia pantheon, debuting alongside the beta. This Magical Assassin and Jungler boasts unique abilities like wall-running and enemy trapping.
- Returning Favorites: Popular Gods from the original Smite, such as Mulan, Geb, Ullr, and Agni, are back with revamped skill sets.
- Expanded Roster: The God roster will expand significantly, approaching 50 Gods by January 2025, up from the initial 14 in the Alpha.
- New Game Modes: Experience thrilling new gameplay with the introduction of Joust (3v3) and Duel (1v1), both featuring an Arthurian-themed map with teleporters and stealth grass.
- Aspects System: This innovative feature allows players to sacrifice a God's ability for a powerful bonus, adding strategic depth. 20 Gods will initially have Aspects, with more to come.
- Quality-of-Life Improvements: Smite 2 will boast enhanced features, including Role Guides for new players, PC text chat, improved item stores, death recaps, and more.
The open beta will feature approximately 45 dynamic Gods, with 20 initially showcasing the Aspects system. The first Smite 2 esports tournament finale will also take place in Las Vegas from January 17-19, 2025.
