The Sims 1 and 2 Return to PC at Last Today via The Sims 25th Birthday Bundle

by Andrew Feb 28,2025

Celebrate 25 Years of The Sims with Remastered Classics! EA and Maxis are throwing a fantastic anniversary party, bringing back The Sims and The Sims 2 to PC! Both games return via Legacy Collections, also bundled together in The Sims 25th Birthday Bundle for $40.

These Legacy Collections include nearly all expansions and stuff packs for each title. While The Sims 2 Legacy Collection omits the IKEA Home Stuff pack, it still boasts a comprehensive package. Both collections even include bonus content: The Sims gets a Throwback Fit Kit, and The Sims 2 receives a Grunge Revival Kit.

PlayThis marks a momentous return for these classic titles. The Sims was initially a disc-only release, making it inaccessible to many without a physical copy and compatibility workarounds. The Sims 2, while previously available through an Ultimate Collection, was later removed from EA's Origin store. Now, with these new collections, all four main Sims games are readily available digitally.

Our original reviews awarded The Sims a 9.5/10 and The Sims 2 an 8.5/10. Despite the series' evolution, the originals remain captivating for their charm, simplicity, challenging gameplay, and historical significance.

The Sims: Legacy Collection and The Sims 2: Legacy Collection are available now on Steam, the Epic Games Store, and the EA app.
