NieR: Automata - Where To Farm Machine Arms

Efficiently Acquiring Machine Arms in NieR: Automata

NieR: Automata presents players with a considerable crafting materials list for weapon and pod upgrades. While many become readily available later, acquiring them early significantly boosts character strength. Machine Arms are a particularly rare crafting material. This guide details efficient methods for obtaining them.

Farming Machine Arms

Machine Arms have a random drop chance from defeated small machines. The drop rate improves with enemy level, making them scarce early in the game. To maximize early acquisition, focus on quickly eliminating numerous machines.

Post-Chapter 4, after your first encounter with Adam, a pit constantly respawns enemies, including many small machines. Access this location via the Desert: Housing Complex fast travel point and proceed deeper into the ruins. The continuous respawn, while offering low drop rates due to the relatively low enemy levels, makes this the most effective early-game farming location. This area is also beneficial for Titanium Alloy farming.

While a Drop Rate Plug-In Chip can slightly increase your yield, the improvement is marginal.

Buying Machine Arms (Spoiler Warning)
