Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Returns to Esports World Cup 2025
Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, the popular mobile game, will once again be featured at the Esports World Cup in 2025. This follows the successful 2024 competition, where several publishers confirmed their games' return for the next year. Garena's Free Fire was an earlier confirmation.
The 2024 Esports World Cup showcased two Mobile Legends: Bang Bang events: the MLBB Mid Season Cup (MSC) and the MLBB Women's Invitational. Teams from around the globe competed in Riyadh. Selangor Red Giants triumphed in the MSC, while Smart Omega Empress defeated Team Vitality (holders of a 25-game win streak since 2021) to claim victory in the Women's Invitational.
A Strong Showing, But Is It Enough?
While most games from the 2024 Esports World Cup are returning in 2025, a notable point is the relatively minor status of the competitions featured. The inclusion of the MLBB Mid Season Cup, for instance, might suggest the Esports World Cup is viewed as a supplementary event rather than the main attraction. This is a double-edged sword; it avoids overshadowing established leagues, but it could also diminish the EWC's perceived importance.
Despite this, fans of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang and other participating games will undoubtedly welcome the return of their favorite titles to this prestigious tournament.
