Efficiently Farming Lightcrystals in Monster Hunter Wilds
Simply defeating monsters isn't enough in Monster Hunter Wilds. Resource gathering is crucial for crafting superior weapons and armor. This guide focuses on efficiently farming Lightcrystals.
Lightcrystal Farming Locations
Lightcrystals are acquired by mining Mining Outcrops. The drop rate is variable, so persistent mining is key. These locations yield Lightcrystals:
- Windward Plains: Areas 1, 2, 3, 7, 9, 10, 17
- Oilwell Basin: Areas 4, 6, 7
- Iceshard Cliffs: Areas 8, 16
- Ruins of Wyveria: Area 5
Mining Outcrops regenerate after approximately 15-20 minutes. Utilize this downtime by farming other resources in different areas before returning.
Lightcrystal Usage
Once you've amassed sufficient Lightcrystals, return to Gemma at Base Camp to craft or upgrade equipment. Lightcrystals are required for:
- Guild Knight Sabers I
- Dragon Perforator II
- Dual Hatchets II
- Triple Bayonet II
- Iron Assault II
- Iron Gale II
- Chain Blitz II
- Iron Accelerator II
- Hyperguard II
- Buster Sword II
- Iron Hammer II
- Metal Bagpipe II
- Chrome Drill II
- Iron Katana II
- Iron Beater II
- Ingot Vambraces
- Thunder Charm III
Note that many of these items (excluding the Thunder Charm) may become obsolete relatively quickly. Don't be overly attached to early-game equipment; better alternatives will likely be discovered soon.
