Legacy XP Tokens Empower Black Ops 6 Players

by Noah Jan 05,2025

The return of the classic Call of Duty Prestige system in Black Ops 6 has made XP grinding more popular than ever. Players familiar with recent titles like Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone might have a head start. Here's how to utilize Legacy XP Tokens in Black Ops 6.

Understanding Legacy XP Tokens in Black Ops 6

Following the Season 01 update for Black Ops 6 and Warzone, many players discovered a surplus of previously unseen XP tokens. These were quickly used to boost XP, weapon XP, and Battle Pass progression. However, a November 15th patch addressed this, disabling the direct activation of Legacy XP tokens within the Black Ops 6 interface, as noted in the Call of Duty Blog.

These Legacy XP Tokens are unused tokens carried over from previous COD titles, such as Modern Warfare II, Modern Warfare III, or Warzone, accessible through the COD HQ app. These tokens were earned through various methods in those games, including DMZ missions, Battle Pass tiers, and promotions with brands like Little Caesar's and Monster Energy. While previously usable in Black Ops 6, they remain active in Warzone. Here's how to use them (indirectly) in Black Ops 6.

Utilizing Warzone XP Tokens in Black Ops 6

Initially, Season 01 allowed direct activation of Warzone Legacy XP tokens within Black Ops 6. This is no longer the case due to the patch. However, a workaround existed:

Activate your Legacy XP Tokens in Warzone. Then, launch Black Ops 6. The token and its timer would then appear in your Black Ops 6 UI. This method involved switching between games, and the token timer ran in real-time. Despite the inconvenience, it provided a method to accelerate leveling in Black Ops 6.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone are currently available on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.
