Video games often depict violence against animals, from Nazi dogs in Wolfenstein to rabid wolves in Resident Evil 4. However, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle breaks this mold.

"Indiana Jones is a dog person," MachineGames Creative Director Jens Andersson revealed in an interview with IGN. While Indy will engage in brawls and battles with human enemies, his interactions with dogs will be entirely non-lethal. This marks a significant departure from MachineGames' previous titles, where animal combat was commonplace.

Andersson explained, "It’s a family-friendly IP in many ways. We have dogs in the game, but you won't hurt them. You'll scare them away."

Set in 1937, between Raiders of the Lost Ark and The Last Crusade, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle begins with Indy pursuing artifacts stolen from Marshall College. His adventure takes him from the Vatican to the Egyptian pyramids and even the submerged temples of Sukhothai.

Indy's trusty whip isn't just for traversal; it's also a weapon used to disarm and subdue human enemies as he navigates open-world-inspired maps. And for those concerned about canine companions, rest assured: no dogs will feel the sting of Indy's whip in this adventure.
