Speculation surrounding a PlayStation 5 release of Starfield intensified after fans spotted a PlayStation logo on Bethesda's official Creations website. The logo accompanied a work-in-progress ship decal creation, which has since been removed. This sparked widespread fan speculation that Bethesda's sci-fi epic, currently exclusive to PC and Xbox, is poised for a PS5 launch.
They have added the Playstation logo to a creation. (I think they are beta testers, the logo only appears on one creation)

This discovery naturally leads to questions about potential future content updates, perhaps even a new expansion, timed to coincide with a PS5 release. Recent months have seen relatively little news regarding Starfield, following the release of the poorly-received Shattered Space expansion. Microsoft's anticipated summer showcase could be the ideal platform for any Starfield announcements.
Bethesda has hinted at "exciting things" planned for Starfield this year, addressing player concerns about a lack of communication and updates. In June 2024, Bethesda reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Starfield, confirming at least one additional story expansion beyond Shattered Space. In an interview with MrMattyPlays, Bethesda Game Studios’ Todd Howard stated the aim is to release an annual story expansion "hopefully for a very long time."

Starfield launched in September 2023 as Bethesda's first new IP in years and its first mainline single-player game since Microsoft's acquisition of ZeniMax Media in March 2021. IGN's review scored it a 7/10, stating: “Starfield has a lot of forces working against it, but eventually the allure of its expansive roleplaying quests and respectable combat make its gravitational pull difficult to resist.”
In January, Microsoft's Phil Spencer declined to rule out a PS5 release for Starfield. Reports from March 2024 suggested both Starfield and Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny were being considered for PS5. Indiana Jones subsequently received a PS5 release, launching a few months after its PC and Xbox release. However, Starfield's PS5 release remains unconfirmed, despite Spencer's suggestive comments.
Several Xbox games are already available on PS5, including Sea of Thieves, Hi-Fi Rush, Grounded, and Pentiment. Microsoft publishes Minecraft across multiple platforms and is set to release Doom: The Dark Ages and Ninja Gaiden 4 on PS5 later this year. Forza Horizon 5 is also confirmed for PS5, and reports suggest a potential Halo release on PlayStation after years of Xbox exclusivity.

Spencer has stated that Xbox's multiplatform strategy aims to boost Microsoft's gaming revenue, particularly following the significant acquisition of Activision Blizzard. As he stated in August 2024: “We run a business…It’s definitely true inside of Microsoft the bar is high for us in terms of the delivery we have to give back to the company…So I look at this, how can we make our games as strong as possible? Our platform continues to grow, on console, on PC, and on cloud. It’s just going to be a strategy that works for us.”
Bethesda Game Studios, employing approximately 450 people, currently manages five teams: Starfield, Elder Scrolls VI, Fallout 76, mobile development, and external partnerships.
