In a fascinating turn of events, audition tapes from the 2005 James Bond casting process have surfaced online, revealing Henry Cavill's take on the iconic 007 role. These tapes, which were shared on the Ron South YouTube channel, showcase the performances of several actors including Henry Cavill, Sam Worthington, Rupert Friend, and Anthony Starr. The channel, run by an enthusiastic filmmaker with 1,890 subscribers, has brought these rare glimpses into the casting process to the public's attention.

Among the auditions, it's Henry Cavill's performance that has garnered significant interest over the years. Many, including Casino Royale director Martin Campbell, have praised Cavill's audition, with Campbell describing it as "tremendous." In fact, Campbell reportedly favored Cavill for the role of James Bond. However, the final decision favored Daniel Craig, who ultimately took on the role of 007.

Despite missing out on the Bond role, Cavill has had the opportunity to explore the spy genre in the film Argylle, where he starred alongside a notable cast including Bryce Dallas Howard, Sam Rockwell, Bryan Cranston, and Catherine O’Hara. Unfortunately, Argylle did not meet expectations, receiving a disappointing 4/10 rating from IGN despite its impressive lineup of actors.

Henry Cavill continues to thrive in a diverse acting career, taking on roles such as Superman in the DC universe, Geralt of Rivia in Netflix's The Witcher, and many other characters, showcasing his versatility and talent across various genres.
