Side quests in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2* offer a mix of fun, confusion, and sometimes frustration. Among these, "In Vino Veritas" stands out with its intricate steps and a nested side quest. Let's dive into how to successfully navigate this engaging journey.
Speak with Casper and Havel
If you decide to retrieve the book from Adleta, head to the southeast corner of Kuttenberg’s inner wall in the morning or afternoon. There, you'll find an open garden where Adleta spends her time. Before you go, pick five Marigolds. Arrive before her brother, Hugo, or speak with him to gain permission to talk to Adleta. Be kind during your conversation and mention that you need the book for Casper. You can either pass a skill check to convince her or offer the Marigolds as a gift to secure the book. Once you have it, read the book from your inventory.
Alternatively, you can bypass Adleta and go directly to Havel, who owns an inn in Kuttenberg City. Prepare by enhancing your drinking skills and wearing an outfit that boosts your Charisma to at least 18. Engage Havel with the following dialogue choices:
- Germany. Let’s do it.
- That’s a very fine gift.
- Steinberger.
- It’s missing ginger.
These choices will impress Havel, leading him to share the monastery's secret ingredient. Return to Casper with this crucial information.
Find the Monastery’s Secret Ingredient
If you choose to complete "Under the Straw Hat," you'll need to perform tasks such as removing plants around the vines and moving sacks. After completing enough work, report back to Jerome to finish the side quest and earn your reward. Otherwise, return to Casper with the Sulphur Wicks and seedlings, if you've collected them.
With that, you'll have successfully completed "In Vino Veritas" in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*. Now, you can proceed to other quests or take some time to enjoy collecting badges and dice.
