Helldivers 2: Truth Enforcers Warbond Arrives October 31st, 2024
Arrowhead Studios and Sony Interactive Entertainment are gearing up for the release of the Truth Enforcers Warbond, a premium content pack for Helldivers 2. This substantial update, launching October 31st, 2024, offers a significant arsenal expansion, allowing players to embody Super Earth's elite Truth Enforcers.
This Warbond functions similarly to a battle pass, utilizing earned Medals to unlock exclusive items. Unlike typical battle passes, however, these purchases are permanent, offering players the flexibility to unlock content at their own pace. Accessible via the Acquisitions Center in the Destroyer ship's menu, the Warbond costs 1,000 Super Credits.
The Truth Enforcers Warbond emphasizes the Ministry of Truth's unwavering principles. Players will gain access to powerful new weapons and armor sets, bolstering their capabilities in the face of any threat.
New weaponry includes the PLAS-15 Loyalist Plasma Pistol (offering both rapid-fire and charged shots), the SMG-32 Reprimand (a high-rate-of-fire submachine gun ideal for close-quarters combat), and the SG-20 Halt shotgun (capable of switching between stun and armor-piercing rounds).
Two new armor sets, the UF-16 Inspector (light armor with a "Proof of Faultless Virtue" cape) and the UF-50 Bloodhound (medium armor with a "Pride of the Whistleblower" cape), both feature the Unflinching perk, reducing stagger effects from incoming damage.
Further cosmetic additions include new banners, patterns for Hellpods, exosuits, and the Pelican-1, along with a new "At Ease" emote. A new Dead Sprint booster allows continued sprinting and diving even after stamina depletion, at the cost of health, adding a high-risk, high-reward element to gameplay.
Despite a positive initial reception and a peak of 458,709 concurrent Steam players (excluding PS5 players), Helldivers 2 has seen a player base decrease, attributed to initial account linking restrictions. While the concurrent player count on Steam is currently below 40,000, the Truth Enforcers Warbond aims to reignite player interest with its enticing new content.
The success of the Warbond in revitalizing the game's popularity remains to be seen, but the promising content showcased in the trailer suggests a strong potential to draw back players and continue the fight for Super Earth.
