Game of Thrones: Kingsroad Mobile RPG Beta Test Announced

Netmarble's upcoming mobile RPG, Game of Thrones: Kingsroad, has unveiled a new gameplay trailer and details about its closed beta test. This action-adventure game, set during the show's fourth season, promises engaging combat and a rich narrative experience.

The closed beta, scheduled for January 16-22, 2025, in the US, Canada, and select European regions, will offer fans early access to the game before its full release later this year. Players can register via the game's official website.

Featuring class-based progression with "fully manual" controls, Kingsroad offers a unique storyline centered around a new character, the heir to House Tyre in the North. Beloved characters like Jon Snow, Jaime Lannister, and even Drogon are confirmed to appear. The game's combat is described as "raw, aggressive, and destructive."

Netmarble, known for titles like Marvel Future Fight and Ni no Kuni: Cross Worlds, aims to deliver a compelling narrative drawing upon the rich lore established by George R.R. Martin and the HBO series. The recently released trailer showcases the game's features, including the diverse character classes and detailed environments.

The game's timing is particularly interesting, offering a substantial gaming experience for Game of Thrones fans while they eagerly await the next installment in the A Song of Ice and Fire book series, The Winds of Winter. The long-awaited novel's delays have led to speculation, with George R.R. Martin even consulting Stephen King for advice on writer's block. However, Kingsroad, alongside other projects like A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms and House of the Dragon season 3, provides fans with ample content to enjoy in the meantime.
