Alkimia Interactive, the creators of the highly-anticipated Gothic 1 Remake, have provided journalists with early access to a new demo. Originally intended for Gamescom, this demo will soon be available to the public.
This demo offers a sneak peek at the full game, introducing a new protagonist: Niras, a prisoner arriving in the Miners' Valley. Unlike the original Nameless Hero, Niras' perspective shapes the early narrative interactions within the colony.
A previous Gamescom 2024 demo showcased Niras' arrival and his initial encounters within the harsh world of the Colony. This expanded demo, soon to be publicly released, will allow players to experience a significantly rebuilt version of Gothic. Both the demo and the final game are nearly entirely recreated, promising extended gameplay, enhanced orc interactions, and increased immersion. Expect a richer, more captivating experience than the original.
The Gothic 1 Remake demo will debut on Steam during the Steam Next Fest, available for free from the evening of February 24th to the evening of March 3rd. Following this period, access will be revoked. The complete Gothic 1 Remake is slated for release later this year on PC (Steam, GOG), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
